Breathe Right – Inhale via nose, exhale via nose or mouth.
Normal breathing is defined as breathing in and out through the nose at rest.  On exertion (any form of exercise), one should breathe in through the nose and out through the nose or mouth.  Inhaling through the mouth will negativley affect body physiology in a variery of ways.  The most common symptoms are a dry mouth in the morning, waking up to sip water during the night or mouthbreathing with early fatigue with exercise.
Snoring will be heard in the majority of mouthbreathers at night.

This can vary from simple heavy breathing, a soft purr, loud snoring and – even worse – obstructive sleep apnoea with sleep disturbance, waking up to pass urine around 3am and day tiredness.  In addition, stomach acid refluxing upwards to the throat while asleep due to eating late at night worsens snoring and sleep apnoea and needs to be avoided – NO LATE NIBBLING!
Treatment option for mild symptoms to severe snoring include:  nasal sprays, anti-reflux diet, weight loss, nasal and throat surgery, mouthguards, CPAP machine or a positional sleep therapy Bolster.

A great night’s sleep is essential for maintenance of good health and memory.
Bad sleep timing habits and shift work interfere with the restorative effect of a good night’s sleep.  This can lead to daytime tiredness, foggy brain feeling and sub optimal function at school or work.
Difficulty in falling asleep is a complex topic but a quick fix is avoiding the 6-8 hour after effects of caffeine in the form of ceylon tea, green tea or coffee after 3pm.  Also – avoiding consuming anything but water for the last 2 hours before lying down to sleep is essential for preventing acids reflux.  The swelling caused by reflux is a factor in snoring and sleep apnoea as well.

Hearing is an important aspect of daily comunication.
It enables us to socialise, assists with relaxation and stress relief, and it plays an important part in warning us of potential dangers in our surroundings.  Loss of hearing can cause feelings of isolation, frustration and even depression.  It can affect both young and old.
Signs of hearing loss include: ringing noise in the ears, you think people are mumbling and ask them to repeat themselves, you struggle to hear in a group conversation and you need to turn up the TV or radio.

Hear Right Website

Some causes of hearing loss can be medically or surgically treated while others may require hearing aids.  Hearing aids are very advanced at both a technical and cosmetic level and should be used when hearing loss is first noticable.  The HEAR RIGHT team will test hearing, supply and fit and then follow up until you are happy.  Special attention is paid to cleaning and care of hearing aids as well as wireless connections to TV and cellphones.
